Reunion Location

The reunion date has been set and the venue has been selected by the reunion committee.

The committee consists of Mary Ellen Sichterman (Mathias), George Gregoratos, Ingrid Norris (Schmelzer), Debbie Gray (Hallmark), Tim Bonner and Bob Kary.

The date is July 13, 2013. It was selected way back by the classmates that attended the 2009 reunion.

The committee looked at locations for the 40th Reunion. Debbie did an outstanding job of calling parks in Lake Station, Portage and Valparaiso. We located the prices for the Lake Station government center, VFW, and American Legion in Lake Station. We tried banquet centers in Hobart and Portage. They all quoted similar prices. The Valparaiso Park Department recommended the Valparaiso Eagles as a reasonably priced hall. It was 1/2 the price of all the others! Plus the can provide a cash bar. No BYOB.  We have access to the hall from 11am to midnight. No one could beat that for price and perks.

We wanted to do everything to have the reunion in Lake Station but if we wanted to keep the ticket price reasonable we had to keep the hall rental as cheap as possible.

If you want to see the place: Valparaiso Eagles. We thought having the Eagles of 73 celebrate at the Eagles Hall was appropriate. The hall seats 250 and we also have an outdoor space for those that like being outside and talking in a more quiet location.
